Paulownia (Kiri)

The fastest-growing tree in the world. Lightweight, strong and CO2-absorbing.

The aluminium of timber

Paulownia, also known as the Kiri tree, is the fastest-growing tree in the world. In its first year, the tree can already reach several metres in height. The timber is prized for its exceptional combination of properties: lightweight (290 kg/m³) yet remarkably strong and durable.

The tree absorbs an impressive 30 tonnes of CO2 per hectare per year, making it an excellent choice for carbon credit generation. After 7–9 years, the first harvest takes place, after which the tree regrows from the stump.
